Happy Friday every one. So Ive been home now for a few days, i thought id share some of my waterlogged photos here. I’m going to start from the last part of our trip, which was so awesome. we stayed in a Greek town. called Palm Harbor. and spent a great deal of time on the sponge docks, supposedly the sponge capital of the world. everything was run by the Greeks the food was deeelish, and we had seafood just a bout every chance we had. 
so, we started our journey Tuesday morning, in the wee hours, I might add, perfect for us, I can always fall asleep on a plane. We decided to take south west for the very first time , to Florida , with one short lay over.
Just made our connection, which was fine, I love not having to wait .when we arrived at our final destination ..in Tampa…. We were excited to start our week long vacation. That’s when everything went haywire….
The airline either lost,my Husbands luggage or some one “accidentally” walked off with it.!!!!!!!! Well its the next dayand the airline still has not found it so it must be the later. Now the airline will not do anything for 5 days, so, it’s time to use vacation funds to buy Him some clothing, and new footware. Not something any one ever excepts to do. He’s ready To go back home. So I took a few pics of yesterday’s activities, just encase we do head back home. These shots are from a hotel we are staying at for a few days, in Sarasota. Next stop will either be …Home or Clearwater ….. Stay tuned.
sitting on the dock of the canal, just watching the world go by, a perfect summers day, me with my cuppa, and My Hubby with His Ice Cream. Boaters love to talk about their Journey and their vessel. We also have a few boats for sight-seeing. and that will be on another day. for now just more waking around and sitting my the 2 villages near me.
We take a drive out this way a few times a year, sometimes with out of towners from Buffalo,NY to show them, what we have. the wine connoisseurs are always amazed , and go home with a few bottles of wine.

Hammondsport; New York is the wine “Wine Capital.” Home to several popular wineries (including Bully Hill and Pleasant Valley), the village still manages to stay small and quiet. A quaint town square features shops and cafes that attract passers by, and a small park at the southern tip of the lake is a worth stop for its excellent view. Hammondsport is also known as the “cradle of aviation.” Village native Glenn Curtiss, who manufactured high-performance motorcycles, became the first person to fly an aircraft over 1 km. Curtiss did this in Hammondsport in a craft he designed called “June Bug.” Curtiss went on to design, build and fly the first sea planes, many of which were tested on Keuka Lake at Hammondsport

as i continued my water journey into History, looking at the old grain mills, , it made me remember when i was little , and every man went to work, and every man …just about… stopped at the corner tavern on the way home..usually on Pay Day!!! i swore when i grew up, i would leave that area, and never ever marry any one who worked at a grain mill, or a steel mill.
i did leave the area, first chance i got, and i did not marry anyone from the area.i still get home sick, and its been 38 years since leaving Buffalo,altogether.
About My Hometown, i grew up on the south side of Buffalo, just foot steps away from the lake. but when i was growing up, the waters were so contaminated.. well, it was just something to look at. So for this part of my Blog, Im going to navigate through some of the old grain mills and some that are still in use…Like…General Mills. when i come back ill share some of the things that anyone can see , when they come to town these days. thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful rest of the week . and Heres a little History i was able to dig up
South Buffalo has one of the highest concentrations of Irish Americans [1] west of the Hudson River outside of Chicago, many of whom settled in Buffalo after the completion of the Erie Canal, as well as the coming of the railroads and the industrial revolution later in the nineteenth century. Nevertheless, unlike many other American cities with large Irish-American populations, Buffalo, New York‘s southside Irish came to the USA relatively late when comparatively speaking. By far the largest concentrations came from the Irish Counties of Clare, Cork, Mayo and Wexford. A large percentage of South Buffalonians can trace their Irish ancestry to the area in and around the town of Kilrush in County Clare. Indeed, most were post-famine arrivals who were recruited to work the burgeoning steel mills, petroleum refineries, foundries, flour mills, automobile factories, and machine shops sprouting up in this highly industrialized city. Many more of South Buffalo’s Irish would wind up working in the ranks of the protective services for the Buffalo Police Department and Buffalo Fire Department. Others found jobs in the various unionized Building Trades, such as in the labor unions representing the Carpenters, Bricklayers, Iron Workers, and Operating Engineers.
